Check in and check out times

Check in is at 3:00 p.m. and check out is at 11:00 a.m. However, we wish to accommodate our guests if at all possible. Please let us know if you have special needs regarding your arrival or departure.

Arrival and Greeting

Guests will be provided a detailed map and the combination to the lock on the entrance gate when they receive their confirmation. However, if you have concerns about finding the ranch, let us know when you plan to arrive and you will be met at the entrance gate and led to the retreat.

Children

Children eight (8) and older are welcomed.

Additional Meals

Those who like to cook can bring their own supplies for meals. For those guests who prefer to eat out, there are a multitude of restaurants in Odessa (nearest is 17 miles) and Midland (nearest is 35-40 miles). For an additional charge, we can stock the kitchen with provisions for the length of your stay.

Maid Service

Full maid service begins on the third day of your stay. However, each day the trash will be removed and the supply of clean linens will be checked and replenished as necessary.

Pets

We are unable to accommodate pets.

Smoking

Smoking is not allowed inside the Barr House. Outside, smoking is permitted only on the porches or around the fire pit.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made by telephone or by regular mail. Cancellations received seven (7) days or more prior to the date of arrival will be fully refunded. Cancellations received less than seven (7) days prior to arrival will only be refunded at the discretion of the owners.

Hunting and Firearms

Rental of the Barr Ranch Retreat does not include any hunting privileges. No firearms are allowed without the owners' permission. Those interested in information about our hunting packages should contact Stan Smith at the Railway Ranch, 432.332.5053.

Communications

Due to the remote nature of the ranch, there is no telephone service. Even some cell phones do not receive a signal. (At this time, Cingular provides the strongest signal). We can provide a Cingular cell phone and antenna but cannot absolutely guarantee access to 911. At this time we cannot provide access to the internet.
